Water Resources
HSW Engineering, Inc. has extensive experience in the planning, management and development of water supply needs/sources; water treatment and water conservation programs such as safe aquifer yield determination, establishment of minimum flows and levels, water distribution system design and optimization, watershed modeling and flood area delineation, stormwater conveyance, environmental remediation evaluation, design and optimization, environmental forensics, nutrient and sediment transport and estuarine systems.
Our staff have prepared and reviewed applications for water use, environmental resource, stormwater NPDES, dredge and fill, and domestic and industrial wastewater disposal permits at the state and federal level. Numerical ground- and surface-water models, statistical methods, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are used to characterize and evaluate water resource, ecological, and geophysical data.
Our engineers and scientists are experienced designing and implementing monitoring programs ranging from synoptic surveys such as wetland assessments and delineations and marina flushing studies to continuous recording rainfall, runoff and water quality monitoring. Several senior scientists and engineers have provided expert and factual testimony, and environmental rule-making support related to the geosciences, water resources, and permitting.
