Project/Senior Scientist / Engineer (Tampa)

HSW is seeking an experienced hydrologist or similarly qualified water resources engineer knowledgeable of how hydrological processes influence freshwater and estuarine ecosystems.  This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to join a small dynamic engineering firm with intellectually challenging projects working with private Fortune 500 companies and government agencies including the Water Management Districts, FDEP, the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, NASA, DNR, regional water supply authorities, municipalities.  Preferred qualifications:  BS or Ph.D. in Hydrology, Civil Engineering or related field; 8-12 years relevant project experience; PE licensed in the State of FL (or able to obtain); progressive management of projects commensurate with relevant experience involving applied hydrology; fundamental understanding of surface water and groundwater hydrology, climatology, and methods of analysis; knowledge and experience related to freshwater ecology and marine biology a plus; experience compiling hydrological, climatological, and water-quality data and expertise using statistical and other data management software to perform exploratory data analysis, ANOVA and regression analysis is essential; experience and expertise with applicable modeling tools such as the HEC suite, EFDC, Modflow, ADICPR, and similar ; experience performing hydrological, ecological and / or GIS modeling a plus; experience preparing text, tables and figures for interpretive scientific reports is essential; strong technical and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
