DoD Environmental Monitoring and Data Quality (EMDQ) 2019 Workshop Snapshot

HSW’s Zeke (Ziqi) He and Cindy Westergard co-presented on the “Importance of Data Integrity in Environmental Forensics Applications” at the DoD Environmental Monitoring and Data Quality (EMDQ) 2019 Workshop held at the Walt Disney World Shades of Green Resort, May 13-16. PFAS continues to be a hot topic with more than 50% of the workshop sessions focusing on the chemical. We are all familiar with the analytical methods mentioned in the EPA’s PFAS Technical Brief (EPA/600/F-17/022e) released in February 2019. This week we learned the US EPA Office of Research and Development is in the process of developing a new method, Method 533, which will serve as a quick, small sample volume alternative to Method 537.1 for the determination of PFAS in drinking water.
