HSW offers a proactive, programmatic view of environmental assessment and remediation, waste and resource management, environmental protection and cleanup, regulatory partnering, and recognizes the importance of continually keeping the end in mind. Our environmental closure strategies are complemented by Lean Six Sigma DMAIC tools (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) to improve performance by systematically minimizing waste of resources and time. Use of DMAIC helps deliver sustained, defect-free performance, and reduce costs over the project’s duration.

HSW staff have extensive experience in all aspects of site characterization and contamination assessment, environmental media (groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment, air, and waste) monitoring, and site rehabilitation (remediation) of impacted soil, water and ecological resources. Sources of contamination investigated by HSW include stored petroleum waste products (gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, avgas, and jet fuel), organic solvents, inorganics, metal-plating wastes, pesticides, PCBs and solid and hazardous waste.
